Grey black powder. It dissolves in acid but not in water, liquid ammonia and ethanol. When heated to 895℃,Co2O3begins to decompose into CoO. The ratio depends on the temperature and heated time.

It is mainly used to manufature magnetic materials, electronic components materials, carbide materials, ceramic glaze, coloring ceramics and glass. It can also be used to manufacture other cobalt salts and catalysts.
